Adrian's funeral was held on Tuesday 9th March.
If you would like to make a donation in memory of Adrian, we suggest one of the following three charities:
Brain Tumour Research
Adrian died of Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), an aggressive brain tumour. The prognosis for patients with GBM remains poor and existing treatments have had limited success in increasing overall survival.
Brain tumours are one of the least well understood forms of cancer, just 1% of the national spend on cancer research is allocated to this disease. Donations to Brain Tumour Research will help support invaluable research into the treatment of brain tumours. Hopefully, this will improve outcomes for others diagnosed with GBM in the future.
Solent Mind
Solent Mind is a charity offering help, support, and advice to those experiencing mental health issues in the local community. Adrian was a supporter of Mind for many years. Since his retirement he volunteered for Solent Mind, supporting well-being walks and working as a volunteer advocate.
Winchester Hospice
The Winchester Hospice is due to open later in 2021, to provide palliative and end of life care for local people. Currently there is no hospice provision in Winchester and patients requiring hospice care have to travel to Andover, Southampton or Basingstoke.
The Winchester Hospice appeal was a charity that Adrian supported. In 2019, he led the organisation of the Winchester to Giessen Run. A group of 19 runners completed an 8-day, 570-mile relay run from Winchester to Giessen, Winchester's twin town in Germany, raising over £4,000 in support of Winchester Hospice.
I found your bench on Farley Mount… too soon.
Missing you dearly.
A real shock and loss, I worked with Adrian in Alcan Packaging and have great memories of those times.
Help grow Adrian's Tribute by adding messages or memories you'd like to share.
